About this activity
DAY 1 : MANALI
Following a morning meet and greet with our team, you will be briefed about the journey ahead,
the safety tips to be followed so that your ride can be peaceful, and answer any last minute questions you might
have. Then lies an introduction with your fellow little buddies that you are gonna ride throughout this journey,
the bikes, which is followed by a short trip to the scenic locales of Solang valley and Naggar castle. The purpose is to get
comfortable with the bikes as well experience some of the natural landscapes of Manali. The
expected ride is around 60kms and offers first timers to Himalayas, a chance to get familiar with
the sharp turns and riding on the hills, as a group, under an experienced tour leader.
DAY 2 : MANALI - KEYLONG
Our official journey begins from Manali to Leh, through the Pir Panjal ranges of Himalayas, with a
steady ascent of 51kms to Rohtang La pass, sitting at an altitude of 13,060 ft and cross over to
Lahaul Spiti district where we descent to Gramphu village followed by Khoksar village. It is then followed
by another steady scale to a town called Sissu, and then onto the district head quarters in Keylong where
comes our stop for the night.
DAY 3 : KEYLONG - SARCHU
After a good night's sleep we continue from Keylong to Baralachala Pass (16,500ft).
Itís a steady 67 km climb with a steep ascent to the pass especially
the last 18 kms from ZingZingBar. Its important that we take extra precautions on these roads as
the winds could be chilly and the dangerous roads adding more spice on to it. Furthermore our journey leads us
through 21 hairpin turns throughout the route from Gata Loops to Nakee La (15,547 ft) and Lachulung La (16,016 ft)
passes and Sarchu, where we halt for the night at the police check post, in the cosiness of comfortable swiss tents.
DAY 4 : SARCHU- LEH
The last stretch of our journey begins from Manali to Leh, with about 250 kms
to ride. Brace yourselves to be amazed by the landscape you encounter on route. Furthermore
one more pass remains for us to conquer at Tanglang La (17,440 ft) and enroute to the pass
we ride across a plateau called More Plains at an altitude of 15,500 ft. The scenic beauty of this
landscape is truly mesmerising and sure to keep eyes as well as camera lenses occupied.
