Private Tour: High Atlas Mountains Day Trip to the Ourika Valley and Waterfalls from Marrakech

Begin with pickup from your Marrakech hotel at about 9am. Alternatively, if you are staying in a riad (traditional house), meet your driver and private, air-conditioned vehicle at a central location.

Then, venture south to the Ourika Valley in the foothills of the High Atlas Mountains. Stop at a Berber souk (Mondays only) or another traditional souk (Thursdays only) on route, or, on other days, travel directly to Ourika and enjoy more time there to explore.

Admire the mountain scenery as you follow the winding Ourika River, passing slopes dotted with Berber villages, orchards, and farms. After a roughly 1- to 1.5-hour journey, arrive at Setti Fatma, a colorfully painted riverside village.

Hop out and enjoy two hours’ free time to walk up to the Setti Fatma waterfalls, a number of cascades hidden in the mountainsides. Choose to hire a local guide (own expense) or climb the rocky paths independently, crossing little streams on route.

Admire the main falls, and then descend back to Setti Fatma, and enjoy a traditional Berber lunch (own expense) at one of the many restaurants. Afterward, reconvene with your driver and finish with a drop-off at the original Marrakech starting point at about 4pm.

Please note: a moderate amount of walking is required to reach the Setti Fatma waterfalls. Guests are recommended to wear sturdy, non-slip walking shoes.
