We signed up for the Small Group Tour From Marrakech to Fes via Desert 4 days 3 nights. Our driver/guide was Hassan....he is a remarkable fellow and we thoroughly enjoyed our long days with him in the company's SUV. Over this time we gained so much respect for him and his purposeful, yet quiet manner. He's only 27 and oh so knowledgeable. Along the way, Hassan became our good friend as he delighted in sharing his world with us....and boy, are we grateful. We peppered him with questions about Moroccan and Muslim customs and traditions. His commentary was always thoughtful and considerate.....and very funny as well!! Enjoying his smile and laughter made the trip all that much better for us.... We were also fortunate that our tour group of no more than six was in fact, two....just us another plus in off-season tourist-ing. We had Hassan, and the SUV all to ourselves....a neat deal for us!! All total, we covered 1200 kilometers about 800 miles during the tour. We started in the foothills outside of Marrakech heading west through the renowned High Atlas mountains.....7500 feet at their peak. Hassan would stop along the way so many times for us with what he would call a Panoramic....time for stunning photos of the Moroccan countryside!! The hotels and meals were fine....not great mind you, but OK for what we expected. On our last day into Fes, Hassan not only offered to take us to the train station to secure tickets for us, he went inside to help with the communications....an invaluable assist for us. All in all....ours was a wonderful experience. Hassan is the best!!
