Notre Dame de la Garde

Meet us at the bus stop « Notre Dame de la Garde » (bus number 60) to start a great tour during which we’ll have the best view ever over Marseille, from the city’s most famous place, Notre Dame de la Garde.

The guide will be waiting for you with a light blue umbrella to tell you everything about the oldest city in France and most specially, the history of Marseille’s main monument !

We’ll have a walk around the basilic enjoying a 360° breathtaking view over Marseille, the best way admire and know everything about Old Port, Château d’If, Frioul islands, the Calanques National Park, Marseille’s football stadium, among others.

Once we’ve finished our tour around Notre Dame de la Garde, we’ll walk down the hill passing by a second world war’s memorial, a tank which was used to recover the Basilic from the Nazis ! To get to Saint Victor’s abbey, one of the most important Christian monuments in the region.

To end this tour, we’ll stop by at the oldest bakery in Marseille to taste a local pastry, the very well-known « Navettes » right before going to a local beer bar where they’ll be waiting for us with an authentic beer (one 33cl bottle per person, including in the price) to have a taste of the Marseille’s way of life.
