Its exhibitions present a wealth of culture, social, scientific and political aspects of the Euro-Mediterranean world of from prehistory to the present day, combining fine arts, anthropology, history, archaeology, and contemporary art.
Permanent exhibitions are "Ruralities" and "Connectivities".
- "Connectivities" presents a history of the great Mediterranean port cities of the 16th and 17th centuries and an urban history through the evolution of contemporary port territories
- "Ruralities" explores the foundations of agriculture and livestock farming in the Mediterranean from the Neolithic period to the present day.

The Island Time. By crossing European and Oceanian maps, utopias of yesterday and today, artists' installations, film clips, contemporary conflicts, and migratory tensions..., the exhibition revisits the images around the island to better understand their evocative power and their role in today's world
