Great Ocean Road Small-Group Ecotour from Melbourne

This tour was everything I asked for! Stuart was an amazing guide who took us to many spots along the Great Ocean Road, ensuring there was something for everyone. We stopped at a gully and did some easy hiking to a small waterfall, walked along the 12 apostles, and had a lovely lunch along the water in a beachside town. Stuart was full of fun factoids about each little town we passed and about the wildlife and history of the region. He made an effort to make sure our entire group got to see a wild koala! At the 12 apostles you are given the opportunity and time to take a helicopter flight over the coastline, ~$145aud, but so totally worth it! It was everything I could have asked for and more.

Mel was our tour guide and she was so friendly, funny, and full of local knowledge. It was such a fun and informative trip, with lots of fantastic sceneries to see and stories to hear along with matched music!

Our tour guide Ben was great! He was very knowledgeable and shared some fun stories about Australia’s geology and history. We were able to see a lot of different sites along the Great Ocean Road. My only complaint is that there isn’t enough time spent at certain stops, but I understand the time constraints of trying to do the tour in one day.

Go west tours are so great. Its a long day but so worth it. There are times for naps so dont worry. Our tour guide Mel was brilliant and really good craic. The views are breathtaking!

It was amazing and pleasant trip. I went this tour with the tour guide Mr. Adam of GoWest. He was really kind and friendly to every guest he had, and gave us good explanation whenever we visited beautiful spots and ran the program very well in amicable manner. I really appreciate that. Moreover, the scenery was beautiful and amazing! We found the koalas at the side of river and went into the forests. It was really good time. Also the company prepared a kid-seat for my son, and it was helpful to us to have a safe journey..

Brass was a great driver/guide and the bus was good too. Very comfy. Sufficient time was given for everything and all sites were covered with enough time.

Our tour guide Ricky was awesome! One of the best tours I have experienced. Definitely a must do if your visiting Melbourne.

There must be better ways to spend your time in Australia. Our tour was a 14(!) hour bus ride punctuated by a few stops, some mildly interesting. The 12 Apostles were really about 6 or 7 Apostles, since several have collapsed. The geologic formation is interesting, but not worth the long ride. I've seen more spectacular coast drives, including Hana Highway on Maui and Highway 1 in California. We saw Koalas, which is probably why I gave this two stars. Our guide was not especially knowledgable, nor informative. The lunch provided was uninteresting. The "dinner", which we had to buy ourselves, was a stop at a cluster of diners ranging from bad (McDonalds, KFC) to horrible (a noodle place). Since we knew what the franchise fast food places were like, we tried the noodle place, and regretted it.

The ride is long, the road is narrow and curved. You can probably get motion sickness. But the views are amazing and the the 12 apostles are impressive.

This road is about 80% inland and except for the 12 Apostles area is not that scenic. It can't hold a candle to the coastal highway in California, for example. Our guide was knowledgeable and likeable. Lunch was mediocre.

Our guide,Stephan was excellent! His knowledge was impressive. He was extremely accommodating and patient with the groups request. It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Our tour guide Stephen was amazing. I felt very nauseous early on during the trip and was accommodated at the front of the shuttle. We were given ample time at each stop for pictures. I recommend this tour— you get to see marvelous views of the ocean, a walk through a rain forest and a walk along a nice park.

My Wife and I booked our tour based on the weather when in Melbourne. Our tour was from the opposite direction and great way to avoid the crowds. Our guide Yazmin was very entertaining and informative. Good lunch and had an awesome day out along the Great Ocen Road

We had a perfect trip along the Great Ocean Road on Boxing Day, there were plenty of stop offs and the final stop at Lockards Gorge was our favourite. We also got to see wild koalas :)

The group had 22 of us. Our guide and driver Amy was excellent. She was very friendly, funny and extremely knowledgeable and she played great music! It's a tiring whole day affair with a lot of time on the road but then it does take a full day to properly see all that needs to be seen on the Great Ocean Road, and this tour makes sure of that. There were lots of opportunities to take beautiful photographs. I would have preferred if the seats on the mini-van had more legroom as it was a bit cramped but otherwise, my family and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Would highly recommend this tour from Go West.
