If there's one thing you do in Melbourne, it's to take this trip. I was so pleased with taking the sunset trip although the day is long nearly 12 hours, the views at each of the stops are incredible. The van is snug but I liked that it could only hold 24 people. The roads are winding which doesn't help weak stomachs, but the experience is worth it. Really pleased all around great value for your money.
So glad we took this option as it afforded us a late start and seeing the coast at sunset was very special. It is a long day but our guide , sorry forgot his name, was excellent. The only Aussie we met who could talk knowledgeably and supportively of aboriginal culture. Plenty information but not overloaded through the trip . Sufficient food and loo stops . Plenty time at the 12 apostles to take photos of the sunset. It was an awful lot of driving and I am glad and better informed from having taken this trip than from attempting to do it myself by hire car. Aside from the apostles this is a stunning coast , not to be missed.
The trip was great, although I would call this a mid size group, not small. There was about a dozen of us. It's a great way to do the great ocean road, avoid the crowds etc. I highly recommend it. We even saw a Koala walking on the road. So cute :
