Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes
Stop At: Museo Diego Rivera Anahuacalli, Calle Museo 150, Mexico City 04620 Mexico
the trip will continue through the Anahuacalli Museum. An emblematic site in which Diego and Frida wanted to build a home as a couple; an idea that could not be carried out, but that, under the great imagination of Diego Rivera, was transformed from a volcanic rock terrain, into a museum that combines the modern construction ideas and the pre-Hispanic roots of Mexico. There you will see some of Diego Rivera's sketches for murals as well as part of his collection of pre-Hispanic works that houses about 2,000 figures and idols from different cultures and periods of the ancient history of Mexico, where in the first instance, crossing the main hall, one will meet the four most important deities of the Mexican pre-Hispanic world and that represent the four elements: the goddess of corn, Chicomecóatl, for the land; Ehécatl, god of the wind, for the air; Huehuetéotl, god of fire, for this element, and Tláloc, god of rain, for water. Once inside, visitors will find themselves on a mystical journey from the underworld to the sun.
Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes
Stop At: Museo Dolores Olmedo Patino, Calle Avenida Mexico # 5843 La Noria, Xochimilco, Mexico City 16030 Mexico
Finally, we will end up in a museum that is of special mention because it was not a place where Frida or Diego lived, but is a place where most of their legacy remains present: Dolores Olmedo Museum, home of a wonderful compilation of Diego Rivera's works and the largest collection in the world of Frida Khalo's paintings (such as "Henry Ford Hospital", "The Broken Column" and "Autoretrato con Changuito", one of Frida Kahlo’s most iconic paintings). The museum also exhibits more than 900 archaeological pieces of diverse cultures and historical periods of Mexico, as well as personal and decorative objects of Dolores Olmedo when she lived in that house.
