It is a skyscraper built in Milan built between 1965 and 1958 by the BBPR architectural partnership. It is considered a flag of the Milanese contemporary architecture but it is still very controversial as an example of the brutalism. Text description provided by the architects: mixed in with the Gothic Cathedrals, buildings, sculptures and domes of Milan, the Torre Velasca stands out as one of the few modern buildings in the city’s ancient center.

It the real epicenter of the city centre. After a necessary mention to the astonishing Cathedral, we focus on the building designed by Griffini, Magistretti, Muzio, and Portaluppi and recently renovated by the Rota Group: Palazzo Arengario now Museo del Novecento (XX Century Museum). This stop give us also the permission to make a journey back in the beginning of XX century imagining us sipping our original Campari Seltz or Negroni at Camparino where professionals, artist and intellectuals, as the Futurist Marinetti e Boccioni, were used to stop and drink and have a small chat at the end of the day, in the magic hours of Aperitivo.

The first skyscraper of the city the so called "Pirellone" by Gio Ponti for its innovative shape it was long compared to a luminous prism.

Bosco Verticale (Vertical Forest) is a pair of residential towers in the Porta Nuova district of Milan. They have a height of 111 metres (364 ft) and 76 metres (249 ft) and contain more than 900 trees.
The towers were designed by Boeri Studio (Stefano Boeri, Gianandrea Barreca and Giovanni La Varra). It also involved input from horticulturalists and botanists.

Piazza Gae Aulenti, symbol of contemporary Milan, is a circular elevated square designed by the Argentine architect César Pelli. As from the nearby Piazza Alvar Aalto, you can also enjoy the skyline of Milan: you can see the Garibaldi Towers and the adjacent skyscrapers of the Vertical Forest, the Lombard Regional Government building, the Galfa Tower, the Municipal Technical Services Tower, the Pirelli Skyscraper, the Solaria, Solea, Aria residential towers and a portion of the Diamante Tower. In addition, from the level of the square it is possible to have an impressive overview of the Unicredit Tower, which with its 231 meters is the tallest skyscraper in Italy.

Known as glass pyramids by Herzog, is a complex of two buildings designed by architects Herzog & de Meuron and built in the area of Porta Volta in Milan. They structurally present themselves as two pyramid-shaped buildings that develop horizontally, one next to the other, hosting one respectively the headquarters of the Feltrinelli Foundation and the other the offices of Microsoft Italy. The building is located near the Spanish walls of the 1500s. Aesthetically it is characterized by the pyramidal shape and the large external glazed surfaces with the presence of 1224 windows, characterized by a contemporary architectural style.

Torre Branca ("Branca Tower") is an iron panoramic tower designed by architect Gio Ponti and located in Parco Sempione (Simplon park behind Sforza Castel), the main city park of Milan, The top of the tower is a panoramic point whose view, on a clear day, may encompass the Milan cityline as well as the Alps, the Apennines, and part of the Po Valley.
