You will meet your local guide here and start an incredible day of culture, experiencing the immense and spectacular hills, olive groves and vineyards of the Tuscan countryside.
If you like walking and want to enjoy the beautiful valley views you can amble approximately 3 kms through the olive groves to the village of Vinci, if preferred you can travel in the minivan to Vinci. Along with your lovely guide you will visit the village and the museum where you will find the largest collection of the Genius’s work as architect, scientist, technologist and artist. The museum exhibits machines, models and anatomical studies presented with precise references to the writings and records of the artist.
Once the museum visit finishes you will go to visit a local wine producer where you will have a tour of the wine cellars followed by wine tasting. A light lunch of delicious Tuscan cuisine will be served in an authentic, typical atmosphere.
The next stop on your tour is Cerreto Guidi, a small village not far from Vinci. A walk through the village alleys will take you to the beautiful Villa Medicea, a hunting residence built for Cosimo I and now a UNESCO heritage site. Built on a hill in the centre of the village the villa commands the most incredible views. The villa houses The Museo della Caccia e del Territorio, a museum which exhibits an exemplary collection of medieval and modern hunting arms. The villa and museum can be visited freely.
After your visit to Cerreto Guidi your driver will accompany you to your hotel.
