The idea of creating the mausoleum was based on the ideology of socialism: the party leaders wanted to create a new religion for the Soviet people, which would be closely linked to the party, so the dead body of Vladimir Ilyich Lenin was decided embalmed and placed in a mausoleum.
At first, the building was wooden and is a cube with a pyramid on top, then it was attached to the platform of the need speeches on Red Square. And in 1945 he acquired a modern look. Some time in the mausoleum was also the body of the great leader Stalin, but was later buried.

The current appearance was formed in 1495 by the best architects of Russia and Italy. Today Kremlin is the residence of Russian President and the main symbol of the country, revered by all of its citizens. The center of the Moscow Kremlin is occupied by the main and most ancient square of the city - Cathedral Square, which still retains its original form - a unique complex of masterpieces of medieval architecture. Having been founded in the early XIVth century Cathedral Square saw the construction, destruction and rebuilding of churches and chambers, witnessed all the perturbations within the history of the Russian State. Nowadays the architectural ensemble of the Cathedral Square consists of the Assumption cathedral, Archangel's cathedral, Annunciation cathedral, the Church of Laying Our Lady's Holy Robe, the Patriarch's Palace, the Faceted Chamber, Golden Tsarina's Chamber and churches of the Terem Palace, the Ivan the Great Bell-Tower complex.
