Russian Orthodox Christians believe that Bogolyubovo was founded on the spot where Bogolyubsky saw a miraculous vision of the Theotokos, who commanded him to build a church and a monastery on this spot.

The Church of the Intercession of the Holy Virgin on the Nerl River is an Orthodox church and a symbol of medieval Russia. Bulit by Prince Andrei Bogolyubskiy in XII century, it was built in white stone. You can enjoy fascinating scenery with a large field, 2 rivers and the beautiful church in front of you
