About this activity
The Red Square, on of Russia’s most famous landmark, is a huge cobbled square of some 73,000 square metres. It is surrounded by the Kremlin Walls, Lenin’s Tomb, St Basil’s Cathedral, GUM superstore and the Russian State Historical Museum. Originally a commercial centre, it has been at the very centre of Russian history since the 15th century, from Ivan the Terrible’s confession of his misdeeds to the people in 1550, to great demonstrations, executions and the great parades of the Soviet Union’s military might. Ironically, “krasny” originally meant beautiful and it came to mean “red” in the last century! During this 4-hour tour you will have a chance to see all the landmarks mentioned above. The professional guide will pick you up at your hotel.
