THE PRINCE OF WALES MUSEUM is today known as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangralaya. The museum is located 5 minutes walking distance from the Gateway of India. The museum was built in early 20th century by prominent citizens to commemorate the visit of Prince of Wales. The museum has 3 sections which are Art, Archaeology and Natural History with 50,000 exhibits on display.

THE NATIONAL GALLERY OF MODERN ART was established in 1954, and it displays works of modern art from the mid 19th century onward. It has a wonderful collection of around 15000 paintings, sculptors and works of art by Indian as well as international artists. The NGMA collection today is undeniably the most significant collection of modern art and contemporary art in the country today.

MANI BHAVAN served as Mahatma Gandhi’s home when he used to visit Mumbai. The two story building is tucked on a quiet street in Girgaum, South Mumbai. The room on the 2nd floor where Gandhiji used to stay is kept as it was even today. The room has Gandhi’s personal belongings such as the charkha (spinning wheel), his spectacles, and much more. The 2nd floor also has a doll museum depicting the important life stages in Gandhiji’s life. The 1st floor has photographs of Gandhiji meeting various world leader and some of his personal handwritten letters to dignitaries.
