We stop at Linderhof Palace on our drive down to Neuschwanstein Castle. We do not go inside the palace but explore the beautiful gardens around the palace. (If admission is requested, we could additionally also visit inside, however Neuschwanstein is the focal point of this tour - but we are totally flexible)

Stop At: Plansee Austria

This gorgeous lake just on the Austrian side of the boarder is a quick stop and a must see along the route to Neuschwanstein Castle.

This second castle is viewable from the Village of Schwangau which is where Neuschwanstein is situated.

This beautiful lake also is in the village of Schwangau.

It is an option to hike up the backside gorge of the Neuschwanstein Castle, which is not overly strenous, but good fitness and health would be required, but it is great if it is possible to be done.
