Nagoya Karakuri Robot Experience

In this activity, you can experience live demonstration of both traditional Japanese robot and the latest AI robot in an event space for about 60 minutes. After the short break with complementary soft drink, you will walk to a historical shopping street of Nagoya to see a unique Kabuki performance by robots.

 1.　Traditional Japanese robot, Karakuri mechanical doll (40 minutes)

・Brief explanation of 300 year’s history and cultural background of Karakuri

・Live demonstration of tea serving Karakuri doll

・Receive a cup of green tea which is carried by the mechanical doll

・Touch & operate a tea serving doll by yourself

 

２．The latest Japanese AI robot (20 minutes)

・Self-introduction of AI robot in English

・Live performance, song and dance, by AI robot

・Ask the robot to take a photo and project your photo by the robot itself.

 

３．Short walking tour to see Kabuki performance by robots (20 minutes)

・Walk around historical downtown of Nagoya with your private guide.

・On a shopping street near the Kabuki theater, you will see a live performance of unique Karakuri mechanical doll which plays Kabuki, traditional Japanese stage drama.
