Day 1: Delhi to Amritsar by Train

Pass By: India Gate, Near Connaught Place New Delhi, New Delhi 110001 India
Partake in a 6:30am pickup from the New Delhi hotel or Indira Gandhi International Airport and transfer to the railway station to board the 7:20am train to Amritsar.

Come 2pm, after your arrival, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. (At your own expense)

3pm visit to the India/Pakistan Border for the changing of the guard ceremony and the flag hoisting and lowering activities, which are done with great skill and precision by the border security forces of both the countries.

Later, visit the Golden Temple for an evening holy book ceremony.

Day 2: Amritsar to Delhi by Train (B)

Pass By: Amritsar Railway Station, Guru Arjun Nagar, Putligarh, Amritsar, Punjab 143001, India
Have breakfast, then at 8am, take a sightseeing tour of the Golden Temple. The Temple is the spiritual center of the Sikh faith, and was built by Guru Arjun Singh in the late 16th century.

By 10am, you will have arrived at the Jallianwala Bagh Memorial, an important monument dedicated to the hundreds of martyrs of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre in 1919.

Take a lunch break at 1pm at a local restaurant. (At your own expense)

At 2pm, transfer to the Amritsar railway station. Dinner will be available on board before your

11:05pm Arrival at the Delhi railway station. A driver will be ready to bring you to your Delhi hotel.

We were met in Delhi and escort onto the train. We were given full details of who would be meeting us in Amritsar, including the guides phone number and car registration number. Our photograph was taken and passed to the guide so he could recognise us. All very reassuring. The trip went like clockwork. We were met, taken to our hotel, which was lovely, for a quick freshen up before going to the border ceremony. This was fantastic. A brilliant spectacle. We returned to the hotel for dinner and then off to the Golden Temple. Magnificent! Next morning a tour of Amritsa. It is truly a beautiful city. At 4 oclock we were escorted back to the station. Our train was on time but held up for 15 minutes outside Delhi station. No problem our guide was waiting as we left the carriage to drive us to our overnight accommodation. I would and already have recommended this tour to several friends staying in Goa. I will definitely be using this company for our next trips in India. They made life very easy. Thank you.
