We were in India for work and decided to tack on a short trip to see some keys sights! The booking was so simple and shakul communicated well and easily via WhatsApp prior to departure... Appreciated this especially since work was so busy. Hari, our driver for the trip, was great and accommodating... We were perpetually late and taking more time and he just rolled with it. He always had the van nice and comfortable for us and cold water always on hand... Hari even had hand sanitizer and wifi in the van! The guides throughout were excellent... Explaining the history of the region and the various conquest and rules and how the various religions and cultures mixes together. They were all incredibly knowledgeable and well versed! The shopping stops were interesting and not high pressure so fine as well! Since we were a bunch of engineers, we love the Astrological Observatory in Jaipur... So cool they could do that level of precision! Obviously the Taj Mahal was amazing - and the highlight of the trip. Great work all around... We flew out of Jaipur and they accommodated that schedule as well... Highly recommend especially for a quick trip and seeing the key sights!
WOWOW!Loved this trip. Overall, it was a great experience, but be prepared to spend a LOT of time in the car. Half day each day is spent driving. With the frenzied traffic, honking, and braking it feels like a whirlwind. The concierge named Shakul that orchestrates everything and checks in by phone and Whatsapp twice daily was there to answer questions and help with language issues if they come up. Up early each day to get to the monuments first so that it was less crowded was good strategy. Late to bed after the drive during traffic times, we were a bit exhausted by the end, but glowing from the amazing display of history, architecture and current life that we were introduced. We were picked up on time by our Driver DK Sharmal. His car was air conditioned, clean, smelled nice, and in very good repair. He and the tour guide took us around Delhi, and since we had already seen some monuments on the itinerary, they adjusted the route to show us different places. Off from Delhi to Agra, DKs driving is expert. We were two ladies safe in his care, he found us great places for meals on the road which were less touristy, better price ,and very good clean food conditions. Agra chosen hotel was nice, but also smelly... bug spray smells everywhere... yuck. We didn't go out, ate at the hotel. DK sent us good morning messages to make sure we were up and ready to depart to see the Taj Mahal on time. Our female guide, Seema met us promptly, and explained the security restrictions. SUNRISE was the way to go to avoid crowds!! Myself being female with my female traveling companion were VERY grateful to have a female guide, because they split the entrance security lines by sex. there are so many people, if we had been separated I would be worried that it is hard to meet up again. Seema is such a pleasant young lady, incredibly knowledgeable, and expert at the history and seeing things through the eyes of the Rajas who once lived in the area and built these amazing structures. The Red fort was beautiful. Then another 4 hour drive to Jaipur, Shakul keeping us safe and dropping us for lunch. Jaipur Sheraton hotel was very nice, and the buffet was really good. Our guide for Jaipur named Suryakant, also was charming, very comfortable telling us about current lifestyles and all of the ancient fascinations in the Amber fort, and how well loved the Royal family is that lives in the City palace. Then another 4-5 hours in the car back to Delhi.
Mr D. K. Sharma was our tour driver for the last 3 days and the driving couldn't have been smoother. We arrived everywhere on time and well rested (having fallen asleep in the car a few times!) and he was always ready within a minute or so of us having finished each activity with the local tour guides (who were good at 'worst', fantastic at best so absolutely no complaints there either. A particular shout out to our guide in Jaipur who was extremely knowledgeable and knew where to take all the best photos, which order; and more importantly, at what time to visit things to avoid the queues!).I would definitely recommend the tour to anyone wanting to see a lot in a spare 3 days they are in India without the hassle of having to figure out where to go, what to do, or how to get there. There were of course a couple of stops at Bazaars and 'friendly' rest-stops (2 of which we actually went to at the same time as Christian Bale; who we also spotted again at the Taj Mahal... I don't think that's something to be guaranteed though on this tour usually I'm afraid...) along the way throughout the 3 days where a 'comission' will have been a certainty but this is par for the course. A firm 'no thank-you' was all that was needed if you didn't want to buy anything though and the 'shopping' stop in Agra was actually great as we learnt all about how the stone inlay was done on the Taj Mahal and (having refused anything from the 'main' room as all too big, been shown the back room where all the smaller items were kept, then haggled them down to 50% of the initial price) even bought a couple of bits for us/family!The car was also the cleanest we had been in since the private transfer we booked from the airport to the Shangri-La; so much so I even took off my shoes to rest my feet - If you ever go in an Uber/taxi in Delhi you'd know for sure that isn't something you would do normally...
Awesome trip! Exceeded all my expectations and the tour covers so much. I initially just wanted to see the Taj Mahal but when I came across this tour I thought Id take the chance and explore further. The tour guides were charming, knowledgable and brought every single site to life. New Delhi felt extra special as we were there for Holi. The Taj Mahal was breathtaking and nothing quite prepares you for it. Although I didnt know much about Jaipur before the trip, it became one of my favourite cities in India. The palaces, the fort and the observatory, our guide brought the pink city to life. The most impressive part of the trip is our driver K K Sharma. He was funny and always in great spirits. He spent the entire 3 days with us and hours driving us from city to city, ensuring we had everything we needed. Hes courteous, with a great sense of humour and I really want to thank him as he made those 4 and 5 hours drive feel effortless. Hes a walking encyclopaedia and I recommend him highly. Absolute first class service!
The tour was well planned. The stay at Agra was very good. The hotel in Jaipur was a big property but the amenities were one star. They should not use that property for this tour as it was claimed that stay will be four star. They should just see the amenities and service of Shiraz Inn Agra to compare. The driver was outstanding and very polite and safe. The tour guides were nice, though sometimes their accent of English was a bit of a challenge. But overall tickets and guides were very good. Enjoyed the tour a lot barring stay at Jaipur.
