Buyer beware this is not a train or sunset tour! We were told the “train was delayed” or booked on both ways of our trip. I bought this tour months ago and for them to have the nerve to say we couldn’t use the train was very frustrating. It was because of Maria’s tours pour planning we could not get rain tickets. We also verified ahead of time that we could take the late train so we could be there during sunset. Again we were given another excuse that you couldn’t see the sunset anyway. We specifically booked this tour for two reasons 1. To take the train coming and going 2. To be in Agra for the sunset even if it wasn’t a good. We paid for a service and got something else we were not happy about it. But just like every experience in India for us was you don’t get what is stated beforehand so don’t expect it. The other very upsetting thing is we were asked to write a review on trip advisor after are lunch , which was before they changed the whole tour on us. I would not use this company again based on my experience. The service they offer does not exist pick another company.
I enjoyed this tour. It was really convenient as I was in Delhi only for one day. I didn't have enough time and to be frank, the effort to figure out how to get to Agra once I was in Delhi. This tour took care of everything. From the pickup from our hotel to the train station to the drive to the sights and back again, everything was taken care of. We took the full option, so the food was taken care of. The restaurant was nice, it had various dishes to choose from read: non-veg option. We had to forego our trip to Fatehpur Sikri because we spent too much time in one of the shops buying stuff. Of course, if u are not keen on going to the shops to buy the items, u can just mention it to the guide. I'm sure they'll oblige.. In any case, out tour guide, Ravi was great. Very knowledgeable on the history of the area and overall nice guy. I recommend it if you just don't have time to plan for or know how to go about visiting Taj Mahal and the Agra area.
The tour was realty good and the timing was impeccable for all arrivals and departures. I would change just one thing. On the outbound, the pickup time given was a 3 hour window on my voucher from 0400-0700. There was no way to send an email to Viator to ask for a pickup time. I did not have an international call phone. I had to WhatsApp a friend in the states to make the call to get an accurate pickup time of 0445. This should just be automatically emailed without the need to inconvenience a traveler in a strange country country to navigate.
2 of us went on the tour, liked it very much, special thanks to our Tour Guide in Agra, Faisal, for his knowledge and willingness to share it, enthusiasm about his job, very gentle and respectful attitude toward his customers. There were some changes to the itinerary: - it was suggested that we take a car not a train, because trains tend to be late, and we agreed - we went to Baby Taj in Agra instead of Fatehpur Sikri, which we did not realise that there was a substitution still beautiful - we were offered a free tour of Delhi for the next day, and we agreed why it was offered to us... we only can guess, though very grateful for it. We had to choose 4 locations from a list, and 3 of them we did, the last one was Gandhi memorial on the tour guide suggestion and it turned to be the highlight.
Had to cancel train trip as I had to be back at the airport to fly to Varanasi. Tour guide then got me a car and driver at no extra cost in order to get me to the airport on time. Taj Mahal was AWESOME but even more so was the Agra Fort, the simplicity and detail and thoroughy genial planning that went into the palace was inspiring!
The Taj Mahal tour was amazing. Our guide was Faizal and he was very fluent in English and described the history of Taj Mahal, Red Fort and baby Taj Mahal very well. Faizal was very courteous, professional attitude and assisted in taking pictures. Our car driver was Vickie who showed up at our hotel on exact time. Vickie was very soft spoken driver, very polite and always waiting to pick us up on all monuments. I would highly recommend this tour.
Highly recommend, And if your morning driver is running late, have the hotel call them - to avoid missing your train. Also, the whole call to confirm within 48 hours prior to the trip was lost on me, and I shouldn't have to do that. The driver was great and ended up driving us all the way back to deli for a reasonable price since our train was going to be postponed by several hours and none of us wanted to wait around that long. The tour guide was great and knowledgable but it was irritating that he kept taking pictured for us rather then pointing out the good spots to get the perfect image. It was handy to have a person take our group photo all over the place though. If you are on your own and uneasy in unfamiliar places or are not use to travelling in India or similar places, take a tour with a driver to and from Delhi. But the train is quicker, and the cookies were quite good.
