The service received by Prem and Rocky was excellent. They were very friendly and knowledgeable. They took us everywhere to learn more about the history behind the amazing Taj Majal. It was a great experience.
I booked my trip through Viator and it was a great experience from the start. When I was experiencing challenges with the booking I made direct contact with the 'Hire Taxi India' company and they always answered my calls and/or responded to my text in a very timely manner (and sometimes immediately). I was happy about that because as a female solo traveller in a foreign country, I was nervous. As such, it was great when I realized the company that I was dealing with was professional. Hours before the trip they also provided me with the driver's name and telephone number as well as my tour guide's name. When I met my driver (his name is Prem) I was relieved and happy about his high level of professional. He speaks English well and there was no language barrier or difficulty to understand each other. He was friendly and we had good conversations throughout the journey to Agra with lots of jokes here and there. He is a great person and I recommend that you ask for him. His professionalism further eased any anxiety that I had about this trip and he set the pace for what is one of the best experiences that I have here in India. When we arrived in Agra and I met my tour guide (his name is Tony) and he too was professional and explained what I should expect from the tour. We had a nice walk to Taj Mahal. He collected our tickets and got me bottled water when we arrived. On the inside, he explained in so many details how the Taj Mahal was built. He is very knowledgeable about the precious stones that were used to build the Taj Mahal. He is also very helpful, often telling me ahead of time where I should 'watch my step' so that I didn't have an accident tripping over an obstruction in our path. He knows the Taj Mahal inside-out and where to take some of the best photos and he knows how to work a camera. I had some amazing photos thanks to Tony. But best of all was all the information that he was able to provide. My least favourite part of the tour was the experiencing one of Agra's craft. We went to see embroidery being made and while, in all honesty, it was interesting to watch, the part that I didn't like was them trying to sell me items afterwards. This may just be my personal dislike because I am at the stage of my life where I do not want to buy too many things and to instead use my money on experiences. Even though I bought a purse I feel like the sales guy did not get it when I said I don't want anything else to buy (these things were expensive too). He kept showing me more and more things even when I said I was no longer interested. Anyway, I guess it is his job to sell but unfortunately, I didn't like that part. However, that does not take away from the fact that I had one of the absolutely best experiences on this trip. Once again thanks to my driver, Prem, and my tour guide, Tony. You two honestly made this trip worth it.
The tour to visit the Taj Mahal is really great, but I did not feel safe during the trip. As I left Delhi at 2:15 AM and retorn at 4:00 PM with the save driver, I notice that the drive was asleep. My recommendation is to use two drivers for the tour or go the day before and sleep in Agra.
If you’re looking for a day trip to the Taj Mahal from New Delhi then this is the one! As a lone female traveller, getting picked up in the middle of the night was quite daunting, but the driver Dheeraj was friendly and immediately put my mind at ease. The drive to Agra took just over 3 hours (of which I slept the duration). In Agra I was greeted by Adarsh who was my private tour guide for the day... he was fantastic!!! He was so knowledgeable and told me everything there was to know about the Taj and it’s history as well as giving me free time to roam the Taj and gardens alone. The tour of Fort Agra was just as good as the Taj and well worth seeing to understand the history behind it all. There was no pressure, no rush and everything was done in my time. The hotel which hosted the breakfast was of a high standard and the buffet style breakfast was good. Take snacks with you you won’t be eating until after visiting the Taj (but before the fort). I can’t recommend this trip enough! Going for sunrise is beautiful and means you beat the crowds, traffic and heat. Both Dheeraj and Adarsh went above and beyond to ensure I had the best day... Thank you!
My friend and I are visiting India by ourselves and this is in my opinion the safest and best way to visit the Taj Mahal, especially for women travelers! Raj, the tour guide, was very helpful and took some most amazing photos for us! Ravi, the driver, made sure we arrived to and back safe and comfortable. Highly recommend!
The tour went very smoothly and the Taj Mahal was magical, however the guide was not. He was boring condescending and treated me, a lone female. Like I was a congenital idiot. ADDED to this was the fact that there was ENORMOUS pressure to visit carpet marble and tapestry shops which were incredibly expensive. This was AFTER I had explained in some detail to my guide Rocky. That I had limited funds. So no. I don't want an inlaid marble coffee table that lights up like a Christmas tree. To TRY and get good ol Rocky to take me somewhere that was readonibly priced was exhausting and totally ruined the day. And yes. I am an experienced traveller for over 30 years and absolutely nowhere else in the world. Even Egypt, have I felt the ENORMOUS pressure to be dragged to expensive emporiums. Viator MUST address this. The average rating was for the magnificent Taj Mahal which the average guide could not dim the lustre of this stunning monument
This trip was AMAZING. The pick-up/drop-off at the hotel, drive to Agra, and tour guides were perfect. The sites were breathtaking and knowledge of the guide was excellent. My driver and guide were very personable and friendly, which made the tour even better. As a female solo traveler, I felt completely comfortable and safe and was treated like a princess. It was a day I will truly never forget. Thank you!
We thoroughly enjoyed our sunrise tour of the Taj Mahal with our guide, Rajesh. He was very knowledgable and helped us navigate to get the best photos for our group of 5 women. The breakfast at the hotel was decent and the tour of Agra involved shopping at two shops. We would all highly recommend this tour through Viator.
Our tour guide Mamesh was very knowledgeable and helped us take a lot of great pictures. He also knew a lot of interesting facts about each of the the Taj and Agra Fort. Our driver Prem was also great. I highly recommend the sunrise tour
We liked this trip very much. We were picked up later than normal because of a late airplane, but the company was very flexible and adjusted the schedule and we were also dropped off later such that the entire program did not suffer from it. That meant that we arrived at the Taj later than sunrise but we didn't care because it was cloudy anyway. Our driver Ravi was very kind and knowledgeable, showed us a few interesting monuments on the way back, and drove very safely. Our guide Raj was very experienced, knew the answers to all of our questions and took us to an extra temple in Agra because we showed interest. This is a highly recommended tour!
One of the best tours I have been on. Everything that was stated on the website was according to plan. Our driver arrived at our hotel 15 minutes early and once we were in the car we were on our way. Once we arrived in Agra we were greeted by Shubham. Shubham is such a warm personality along with being a highly motivated and intelligent guide. I truly enjoyed walking through the Taj and listening to him and his knowledge of the area. The atmosphere at the Taj Mahal is so special that it is really hard to describe without experiencing itwhich if you have a chance you must!. Once we were done with the Taj Mahal we had an excellent breakfast, took in some local shopping and Shubham, once again, lent his expertise for our tour of the Agra Fort. All respect for Shubham and crew who do a great job, a true sample of an excellent tour guide!
