The tour was upbeat, informative, and enjoyable. Everyone on the staff was helpful and friendly and made it a wonderful experience.
I appreciated the shuttle picking me up near Cafe du Monde. After watching a very interesting video of the history of the Mardi Gras parade, we were given a delicious slice of King Cake (rounding out the authentic New Orleans experience). Then our fabulous guide took us through the warehouses where these float masterpieces are housed. This is a working area, so we were able to see the patient, meticulous artisans sketching, carving, spray painting, creating all of these works of art. We could wander among the giant creations, taking many, many pictures. Our guide was hilarious and was incredibly knowledgeable. I’m so glad that I booked this tour!
This tour was great! Not only did we get to see lots of the Mardi Gras floats up close and in various stages of development but the tour guide also gave us extra insight in to the history and meaning of the Mardi Gras parades. Would recommend this tour for visitors of all ages!
great transport to and from museum
This was a great tour! We squeezed this in before we had to head to the airport so i loved that they offer tours every 30 minutes. We enjoyed dressing in the easy to button on costumes for a few quick pics before watching the enjoyable video about Mardi Gras. The facts about what this location produces was so surprising! It was very impressive to see the artists actually working on-site and to see the volume of how many pieces are stored here. We were very impressed! The warehouse is not air conditioned while walking around but at least they have big fans everywhere. The only downside is the groups are quite large, about 25 people so it was hard to hear the tour guide. We kept falling behind because we were taking so many pictures. Overall this was interesting and fun.
fun tour,,, does not take too long ,, informative and colorful for sure
really enjoyed the experience to go behind the scenes. I also enjoyed getting to try the King cake. I may never get to be at mardi gras so this was exciting to see the floats.
The missing star is due to the peculiarly freezing temperatures of the day of our tour 1/1/18 which was a factor. There's no climate control in some portions of the warehouse and I wasn't dressed warmly enough, particularly with the wind coming off the river. But the guide and the tour were great. I really enjoyed learning about the history of NOLA's Mardi Gras floats and seeing the amazing artwork and processes. I recommend the tour.
