Stop At: French Quarter, New Orleans, LA

Meet your guide in the heart of the French Quarter to embark on your three-hour walking tour of world-class restaurants and foodie venues. Wander the lively streets of the French Quarter and get an insider's look at the kitchens often seen on food shows and featured in cookbooks. Let your guide know the restaurants you're interested in checking out or perhaps ask your guide to recommend a personal favorite.

Indulge in food tastings during your tour. You may have a classic gumbo as a seafood treasure, boudin beignets and other authentic nibbles. Popular New Orleans' cocktails are available for purchase like the distinctive Pimms Cup with a ' twist. Pimms originated in England, but the Pimms Cup cocktail was dreamed up in New Orleans. Your tastings are all included in the price of your tour and many feel these tastings add up to a meal's worth of food. There's a moderate amount of walking involved as you move from one exceptional restaurant to the next, so it's easy to work off the calories!

Your 3-hour tasting adventure concludes in the French Quarter where you can keep exploring on your own or return to a favorite eatery on your own later for a sit-down meal!

Our tour guide, Laurent gave us the origin and the basic ingredients to many of the well known local cuisines. And we were introduced to a generous sampling of each by the different restaurants we visited. . Kudos to this former chef, Laurent, and his associates. Many thanks for a very special day.

What a wonderful way to begin my visit to New Orleans. My guide was so much fun and incredibly knowledgeable. It’s a great idea to have a food tour at the beginning of your visit to become acquainted with some of the exceptional restaurants and cusine that you just know you’ll want more of. Couple that with tales of the amazing lore of the French Quarter and you know that booking this tour was a terrific idea. I highly recommend this experience!

This was the absolute best food walking tour I've taken and I've been on ones in NYC and Chicago. Our guide, Suzy, was extremely knowledge about both the history of the buildings and general history of New Orleans as well as the food. Do yourself a favor and don't hesitate to book this tour and hope you get Suzy for your guide!

The tour was ran by Destination Kitchen and was way more than we anticipated. Excellent tour guide by the name of Susan. Lots of food tasting stops and learned a lot about New Orleans as well. Highly recommended.

Our guide, Susan, made sure we tasted some of the best food in the Quarter and gave us so much history along with the food stops. It was a lovely and lively walk around the area - my only regret is that I didn't do this my first day or two in New Orleans so I could take in all the new places I learned about. Susan was very informative and was fun to be with. Excellent tour, guide and food! Highly recommend this tour - and Susan!

I've done a lot of food tours and they are all a bit different. This one is more of a history tour through the French Quarter, with added food stops - ie. it isn't so much about the food as the city. That said, the food was amazing - all savoury (no stops for random beignets or pralines in between savoury courses) and all specialties of New Orleans - jambalaya, beef brisket with horseradish, oysters, muffueletta, alligator etc. Our tour guide, Brittany, was very knowledgeable and fun, really bringing the city to life.

Cut it to two hours and maybe it would be a good time. Too much talking on crowded, loud streets so if there were interesting things to learn they couldn’t be heard. The tastings were unremarkable.

Susan was knowledgeable and anxious to answer all questions in order to make our visit to New Orleans pleasurable. All the food was good and added up to a really nice lunch.

This tour was great. I enjoyed the walking history learning of New Orleans. However, the food samplings were minimal with the exception of the small bowl of gumbo that we were served on the upper floor, allowing great views of the square and folks milling about. I am granting the tour 4 stars because at some of the establishments, we had to wait a very long time to be seated if we got seated. At one, we waited over 30 minutes for a small, one-bite sampling of the food. The restaurant was crowded, however, the wait was not worth the small bit of food we were offered.

The tour was more of a history tour than a food tour. 5 tastings in three hours...that’s 1-2 tastings per hour, and the last “tasting” consisted of our tour guide passing out a prepackaged praline for us to eat as we stood on the street, which was disappointing. We had more stops to talk about landmarks and history then we did for actual food. Our tour guide also had a bit of a sarcastic attitude towards some of the attendees at the beginning as well. It wasn’t the worst but I was ready for it to end after the first two hours, and I wouldn’t do this one again.
