This was a very interesting tour. So many questions that you may not have even known you had were answered. Our guide shared fascinating histories/back stories of many who were resting there eternally. The artwork and archetecture of some of these crypts was really quite lovely. I’m definitely glad that I booked this tour.
It was o.k. the meeting place should be changed, must have been garbage day. Guide had some interesting stories. It was a bit fast. May consider taking combo tour.
WOW...So we were looking to see the graveyards and not spend a lot of money, so this one was cheap...you get what you pay for...first of all, they have you meet at a building that is for sale, Kim, the guide, just clips her sign to the door, then folds it back up into her purse...Kim looked like a drunk homeless person, it took us a minute to realize that she was part of the tour. She approached us yelling a name that was not ours and finally I said That's not my name, why are you continuing to yell it at me like I don't speak English?. SHe then verified our names and gave us a sticker to get in...Mind you she has muttered obscenities to people walking by more than one and seriously, we are still pretty sure she was drunk...Her tour was filled with inaccurate historical data and many personal stories that didn't make any sense...She also kept answering her phone yelling I'm on a tour right now, then would say That's the boss lady calling...We have affectionately called this the trailer park graveyard tour, it is fitting, trust me...so, if you just want to pay 10 bucks to get into the graveyard and look up the walking tour that is online, the numbers to the tour are still on the ground little metal disks next to each description, then this is your tour...If you want an actual tour, then spend the money for a professional...I have been to NOLA many times and visited the graveyards on a quality tour in the past...this was a joke...I went with people who had never been and filled them in on the real history along the way...
Guide seemed to know subject but was not good at communicating. Could have visited other cemeteries on our own and got as much out of it.
Kim asked us to be 15 minutes early. She arrived late. She failed to introduce herself. She arrived and started asking who wanted her stickers. We didn't know who she was and why she wanted to give us stickers. We walked to the cemetery. Kim repeated several stories a few times. Couldn't tell if she was making it up. She picked on the archdiocese multiple times. Unfortunately, this was a waste of good vacation time.
Knowledgeable and colourful tour guide. Only regret we got rain, but can't control that.
Our guide was fantastic and very knowledgeable about the cemetery. She also had great fun facts about the old and new. I highly recommend this!
