The best part of this experience was travelling up the Mississippi. The dinner service was so disappointing, the service was very poor the staff were rude and very unhelpful and the meal was horrible. Don't bother getting the dinner package. I have done many boat cruisers up rivers all around the world and this has to be the worst.
The evening view is just amazing. The sun, the river and the music. We got the no-dinner trip and there's a bar outside and the restrooms nearby. It's a must!
The Cruise part was Ok, but the food was not very good. The food was suppose to be a Cajun type of buffet. The Gumbo was terrible, the roasted Pork was dry and over cooked, the bread Pudding wasn't good. I was disappointed with it for the price I payed for the dinner.
This was disappointing. I didn't even see the band anywhere. Not in the dinning dining room or otherwise. Food provided was two meat options, pasta, vegetables, chicken gumbo and banana pudding. No fish or seafood option, it's New Orleans. Should have at least a shrimp option. Only tea and coffee included. Cruise was a little pricey for the value.
My wife and I booked the Dinner Cruise for our 17th anniversary. The , food, music, and staff were AMAZING!
I loved this part of my trip!!! Boat was beautiful. Music was awesome. Band was awesome!! I would definitely recommend this!!
First I throughly enjoyed the boat ride tour. The hospitality from the crew was awesome. The drinks and food was delicious. With that said, from a professional standpoint (law enforcement ) I found it kind of disturbing there was not a safety checkpoint for boarding passengers. Yes, someone was there to take my ticket but didn't check any bags. I feel that this area should be improved. The passengers are owned an enjoyed ride but an overall safe ride.
A great trip, very enjoyable. If you go on it take the second dinner siting as you see the sights before the sun goes down. Jazz band are very good we purcjhsed one of their CDs.
Loved the views, the music and the dinner! Sunset cruise is definitely the best because you get incredible views of the city! Will definitely do this cruise again when I'm back in NOLA.
Relaxing ride after a busy day of walking and shopping. Beautiful view with a knowledgeable guide describing points of historical significance. Great food at a reasonable price and very friendly staff.
Given some of the previous reviews, we were slightly sceptical. However this trip exceeded our expectations. Given the large number of people boarding the boat we thought we would struggle to find a seat and there would be large queues for dinner. This was not the case ... plenty of space outside, boat did not feel crowded and no queues for bar. We left going to the engine room until later and were nearly the only ones down there. There are two dinner sittings which was managed extremely well. Everyone had a table with table service for drinks. No large queues at the buffet as the staff staged when you went up. Food was good quality, large selection and hot. Think if it had been raining/cold it could have been a different experience as there is limited indoor space particularly if you do not pay for dinner which gives you some time in the restaurant (not all if bad weather as there are two dinner sittings)
The Steamboat Dinner Cruise was a perfect way to spend a relaxing evening on the impressive Mississippi River. Friendly employees, delicious food!
It was a wonderful way to spend an evening and see a little more of New Orleans. The buffet was delicious and it was the first time in a long time that I ate dessert and I had both. So good.
The views were awesome at sunset and the jazz was great. The dinner service(food and all) was not worth the price in my opinion(seating, food options/quality). It got very cool on the ride in late April on the outside deck for some people.
The information during the boat tour was great! It's called a jazz dinner cruise, however there was only a very small area near the jazz band. Dinner was nothing great. The food was good but the service wasn't.
Very much enjoyed the boat and river cruise. It offered nostalgia and entertainment as well as first hand refurbished historical mechanisms. Food was mediocre.
This cruise was a great time but it goes by so fast! The food was really good in my opinion, we were really surprised by that given we are foodies and heard some negative things. We were especially impressed by how good the bread pudding and seafood pasta was, some of the best we had on our trip! This is a really fun way to spend an evening. I would recommend being out on the water at night over day as well because the shoreline is very industrial and not really scenic, but at night it just looks like a lot of sparkling lights and the view of the city as you pull away is great!
If you love traditional jazz, you can't miss this trip. Dukes of Dixieland were awesome. Such talented musicians. And all the staff, hostess, server were so friendly and accomodating.
Took evening cruise... did not have the dinner. Skyline was beautiful and the staff very friendly! It started to rain as we were getting off the boat.... be sure to bring a jacket— it got cold!!!
