An amazing and beautiful place. A art of history that has been long hidden I would definitely this to all my frogs and family
This was my first visit to a Plantation. I chose Whitney because it focuses on the slavery aspect of plantation life. It was a great tour. Eye opening, educational and totally activated my tear ducts. Our guide was very knowledgeable and funny. I recommend to this tour to everyone, families included.
This was such a great tour. It pulled on my heartstrings to see the names and hear stories of past slaves who lived on the plantation. However, the perspective provided is rarely provided in American schools, museums, historic tours, etc...I highly recommend visiting.
I heard about the Whitney Plantation tour from a tour guide unrelated to the Whitney. I signed up, and it was completely worth it. It was a very humid day with thunder, giving the tour a sort of ominous atmosphere. It's about an hour outside of New Orleans, on the West Bank of the Mississippi river. The bus guide gave us lots of great info about the countryside we were driving through and general history about Louisiana. We were met by our Whitney tour guide who walked us through the plantation, giving us plenty of time to explore. I've been on other tours of plantations and this is the only one done through the eyes of the enslaved. It was very emotional at times. I highly recommend this tour.
AWESOME TOUR!!!!!!
Driver and Tour Guide were OUTSTANDING! Thank you, Ken and Ali for an afternoon we will never forget.
