He was was very nice and knowledgeable. Very good person to be as a guide. Would love to tour with her again .
The trip was well organized and very interesting. The guides are having a good knowhow of history, geography, politics and much more. Philadelphia and Washington D.C. was great. Unfortunately there was not much time in Washington D.C. to be on your own. A couple hours more would be great. Amish County was very disappointing. Nothing to see. Just shops for tourists and a short trip to one farm without getting out of carriage and visit the farm or talk with an Amish Farmer. Very disappointing. The guides were giving also good advices to go out in NY and shopping places. Thank you. Beside that it was cheeky that the guides were asking a tip of appr. 10 USD per day per person. For our family of 3 persons would have been 60 USD tips? Disappointing. Over all I would reccomend this trip to everybody that is interested to learn (and see) about american history.
This tour was great. Jonathon was our tour guide and we were a group of 14 with English and German speaking people. We also had approx. 25 Spanish and Italian speaking people on our tour bus but their guide was Stefano, who was also amazing. We all traveled in one large bus and although it may seem like it would be confusing with all the different languages it wasn’t at all. It was actually quite enjoyable and proved that no matter where people are from or what language they speak and understand we all are able to find a way to communicate and enjoy eachother’s company. Jonathon and Stefano were a great team and they both seemed to genuinely care for all of us. Jonathon was amazing and his way of reliving historical moments made the tour so interesting. I would recommend this tour in a heartbeat and would definitely say to make sure that you ask if Jonathon will be your guide. He was very communicative and kept us all informed of the activities and events. I would caution that there is a lot of walking involved so bring lots of water and wear comfortable shoes. Our bus driver (I can’t remember his name) was also pleasant and great and made sure we got to our destinations safely.
We were a little concerned about dedicating 2 days to this tour and depleting the days we had in NY but it was well worth it. 4 of us loved the trip. Very interesting places to visit, Philadelphia, the Amish village called Intercourse - I kid you not !! and Washington DC including the Arlington cemetery . Our tour guide Stefanos was super, he was very informative, good with historical facts and good fun. He made it a very enjoyable tour. One of the best parts was starting the second day early so we were at certain sites before they got busy with tourists. The tour is packed with lots of places to visit. We stayed at the Wyndham hotel in Washington which has large rooms and an adequate breakfast included in price.
An extremely busy two days but the content was phenomenal and I think would have been impossible to do by myself in the same time period. Our guide, Jutta, was knowledgeable, humourous and efficient. I learnt so much about the early history of the United States and its influences on current governance. It was inspiring to visit the 'so-often-seen-in-the-media' national monuments, and also disheartening in a way to wander Arlington Cemetery where so many, mostly young servicepeople's, lives are remembered. The trip to Lancaster County and the Amish farms was beautiful and our Amish guide informative and welcoming of our questions and interest. Again, I would highly recommend this tour to everyone.
