About this activity
Itinerary
This is a curated cultural adventure for "iPhone auteurs" who want to get in the zone and make things. Let’s experiment!
For this 3h urban smartphone photo tour you'll explore downtown Manhattan, beginning with Washington Square Park. Observing people, places, and things -- we head south … through Greenwich Village to Little Italy & finally end the photo tour in Chinatown. You will have a photography assignment on location, while being guided through the streets. Getting helpful feedback on your photography. we engage in discussion on what we experience with our 5 senses and how we translate what we see, via composition, color, and design. You are also introduced to many apps, such as Diptych (and other collage apps), Camera +, and more.
With a smartphone as tool for capturing, creating, and reimagining the urban landscape, you are prompted to record what you see and to tell your own stories. With digital tools, follow your own drummer: record, select, and edit images from the day, for photo collages, which you can't print after the photo experience. Upload photos to your own social media accounts for sharing or book projects (via Parabo Press, Snapfish, or Adorama Books)
Stop At:
• 5 Ave, Waverly Pl., W. 4 St. and Macdougal St. Washington Square Park, New York City, NY 10011
• Greenwich Village, 14th Street and West of Broadway, New York City, NY
• Nolita, New York City, NY
• Little Italy, Mulberry Street, New York City, NY 10013
