Manhattan Drum Studios -- Drum & Music Sessions in NYCs largest studio building

Itinerary

In our 2-hour-long session, we'll take deep dives in into the world of music and drumming in my studio located in the Manhattan's legendary Music Building (Madonna, The Strokes, Billy Idol have all kept studios in the building). We'll start with a tour of the building itself, which is the largest rehearsal space in New York City. Each of the building's 12 floors has its own personality, and together we'll view murals by current and former tenants. Then we'll head to my second-floor studio. Students, regardless of experience-level will spend the majority of the time actually playing the drums (multiple drum sets in the studio allow for simultaneous student-teacher playing). We'll learn the drum parts that make up your favorite songs, cover warm-up routines you can do at home whether you have a kit or not, discuss technique and ways of making your playing more efficient while minimizing injury and listen to music and discuss the way the drumming affects the music. I strive to make my lessons as hands-on as possible. I also offer advanced sessions for traveling musicians who want to keep their chops up while on vacation.
