James was very informative of the history of New York City, The Stock Exchange, and even had his own personal experiences to bring the facts of history to light. We stopped in front of the raging bull which was fun. James was very thoughtful and had us stop inside certain buildings during the walking tour to have us warm up a bit!
Great experience and allowed us to go back to Wall street and appreciate it more.
As a former Wall Street insider, Jon did a superb job of explaining the underlying causes of the 2008 Wall Street financial crisis which claimed many greedy as well as unwitting victims. His sense of humor, combined with simplified but detailed explanations of complex investment instruments such as CDOs and CDWs made the tour fascinating for the financially sophisticated and novices alike. Although I had enjoyed reading THE BIG SHORT by Michael Lewis and seeing the resulting movie several years ago, Jon's tour offered an excellent summary of the Wall Street failure for long-term retention. In addition to visiting the fabulous art museums and other well known attractions of New York City, I strongly recommend this easy walking tour by licensed guides who were once Wall Street insiders. By the way, the 2-hour walking tour ended conveniently within 2 or 3 blocks of the 9/11 National Memorial Museum, so plan accordingly if both of these subjects are of interest.
Good mix of history and recent events. Guide was knowledgeable and informative with a ton of antidotes from his time working on Wall Street.
