The Guggenheim Museum is wonderful, and this is not why I am rating it only 2 stars. It states, Skip the Line Access, when you purchase the Vouchers. WE were not able to skip the lines. We had to stand in line, like everyone else, to get the tickets, as these are Vouchers only. We had the same situation at American Museum of Natural History.
Took my 13 year old to a few museums to introduce her to art and this was her favorite. The building itself is a work of art: beautiful, inspirational and a key reason why the Guggenheim is a wonderful place. There are no confusing rooms, no getting lost and you don't feel overwhelmed at all. This allows you to focus on the art itself and it is incredible. A very special treasure.
Skip the line access rules! BUT, there is only one floor of classical artwork and the other SIX! 6 are Chinese modernism. IT would be better with a little more focus on regular art and not so much emphasis on Chinese modernism. Maybe 3 floors Chinese and 4 full time is more appropriate. Had I know this, I would have skipped the interior altogether, as the Frank Lloyd Wright building itself, is a sight to behold. VERY DISAPPOINTING and not at all what I expected. Will DEFINITELY check what is to be exhibited for future art museum pursuits.
Luckily there was no line to skip but a trip to the Guggenheim is well worth it to see some amazing modern art. The building itself is a highlight as you descend the snail-shell shaped galleries and look down from above.
It was good but not necessary
This tour was amazing!
