About this activity
A combination of all that is wonderful about the region, Provence-Alpes-Côte-d’Azur, this tour is a smorgasbord of authentic Provence, medieval villages perched precariously on mountain tops and the high-life of the rich and famous along the seafront!
After being picked up at your hotel in Nice, you will start the tour in Grasse, where you’ll discover the world of perfumes at Fragonard, before taking part of the Route Napoleon and then climbing to Gourdon, over 2,770 feet above sea level.
St-Paul-de-Vence is your next port of call - that village so renowned for its art, where so many of the world’s most famous artists have spent their time. Still culturally important today, many up and coming artists flock to this Mecca of the arts.
Your last stop of the day is Cannes… where the rich and famous play. Where the world’s most famous film festival is held. Be a star yourself - the red carpet is the ideal photo opportunity - before having a stroll either along the sandy beach or doing some window-shopping!
At the end, your driver will take you back to your hotel in Nice.

This tour was amazing. Our driver Franck was very friendly and knowledgeable. We saw so much and everything was beautiful. Only recommendation I have is to start a little earlier and extend the time in Grasse. You spend almost entire allocated time in the perfume factory and are left with very little time to explore the amazing village of Grasse.
Our driver guide was great stopped off at different photo spots along the way and full of interesting information. Tour went to some lovely villages. Loved the perfume tour
This was a very pleasant day and experience. Essentially, a great way to get away from the coast and get up and in to the Alpes-Maritimes region; Cannes probably is included as a way to secure participation, as it's the only coastal stop. Our provider was Sunny Days Sightseeing, driver Justin - very well rehearsed and professionally friendly. Our group size was 8 guests, a full van, which was a nice size to chat and receive guide attention. 1st stop Cannes - an outlier, as on coast, but interesting for 20 minutes to see where the stars hang. (Note, if doing this tour during festival season, expect a serious time impact on getting in and out). 2nd stop Grasse at Fragonard factory was interesting, and something you don't see in states. Gourdon, Tourettes, St Paul were all seriously lovely village perche towns, each with own specialty (view, violets, cemetery, etc). Note: booking time said 9am start, email confirm with SDS Tours said 8:40am pickup, then actual pickpup just after 8:30am - so be prepared, Dropoff at hotel before 5pm, on a summer weekday.
Justin is a fantastic guide and offer detailed and interesting facts. The whole trip is very enjoyable and well planned. Not much time in Cannes which is good. Better to shed time at the perfume place.
It was a wonderful day spent visiting old villages in the mountains. our guide was very punctual, attentive and informative. highly recommended
We enjoyed the tour with a group of five people. It was great to get out in the country side and the towns we visited were very interesting. We highly recommend this tour.
This was a great tour. Well worth the money. Prompt pick up at hotel. Beautiful day touring the amazing countryside and beautiful villages so close to Nice. A good mix of information and free time. Definitely recommend this tour. Had a wonderful day.
Justin was so knowledgable and friendly. Cannes was definitely a waste of time but St. Paul de Vence was magical as well as Grasse and La Tourette was beautiful. I highly recommend this tour. I went by myself and the other 4 couples were fabulous.
This was a little more "touristy" then I expected. You visit a candy factory and perfume factory, along with 3 hilltop villages that are fairly similar, and a quick stop in Cannes. The drive along the back roads was interesting, however our guide was a bit opinionated and off-putting.
Well first off the small towns were amazing and luckiliy not crowded at all. We were there early June so that might of had something to do with the smaller crowds.. but i really think its because of the fact that a lot of the cruisers don't have the time to book this since you dont get done until at around 5:30. We are independent travelers so please dont take my word for it. If you have the time we really recommend this day trip. We found the french people to be very nice and friendly and very helpful no matter where we were, so don't go there thinking they are not. Its rumors. We were in a small group of 5 and the driver gave us plenty of time to explore and shop and take loads of pictures. The only reason for the 4 stars was that the driver had a couple small opinions on some issues that i found unnecessary. But i wouldn't let that deter me from going again
Our whole family all 8 of us rated this day as one of the top three experiences in our two weeks travelling in England, France and Italy. Our driver, Salvatore, spoke English very well and was a fountain of information. He picked us on time, was very specific as to where and when he'd pick us up when we were finished looking around the towns we visited. We never felt rushed. I would highly recommend that anyone with limited time in Europe or anyone who wants to make their vacation as stress free as possible to book with Viator. They have a wide range of tour choices, and are very responsive and helpful in making your arrangements. Val Burges, Kelowna, Canada
