About this activity
The Kingston historical tour is a fantastic option for those looking to learn about the culture and history of Jamaica from a different perspective.
As you tour Kingston, Jamaican capital, you will learn about the city’s many celebrated buildings, monuments, landmarks, and districts. A local tour guide will be there to accompany you and point out famous landmarks—The Bob Marley Museum, The Ward Theatre, Old Spanish Town, and others—and explain the cultural and social impacts that these sights have on Kingston.
You will walk through the Bob Marley Museum, housed in the former residence of reggae legend Bob Marley. There you will see his many awards, personal recording studio, favorite clothing and other personal artifacts and favorite mementos. The visit to the museum will last approximately 75 minutes and it is recommended that you wear comfortable clothing and shoes.
The final stop will be for lunch, where you will visit the famous Tracks & Records Lounge, owned by Olympic Gold medalist Usain Bolt. At an additional cost, you can try traditional Jamaican dishes like the heartily seasoned jerk chicken. While you wait, you can check out Usain Bolt’s track medals, worn uniforms, and other memorabilia lining the walls.
