About this activity
PROPOSED STANDARD SCHEDULE
We pick you up at the location you choose when booking. Note that drop-off location, upon return, will be the same as pickup location.
Estimated pickup would be 05:00AM from your accommodation. Be ready 5minutes before pick up in front of main entrance.
We first drive for an hour to the boat terminal in Lauvvik, from where we take the ferry to Flørli. The boat trip is in itself a great 45 minute long experience that provides the opportunity to see Pulpit Rock from below, while cruising on the Lysefjord waters. The Flørli Hydroelectric Power Station is our starting point for the hike. At the top of the stairs we will allow ourselves time to enjoy the view, and will most likely take some pictures. Meanwhile, we can enjoy our packed lunch, beverages and some snacks. On our descent, we follow the 100 year old track that the “Rallar” used when they built the dam at Ternevatnet. Once back in Flørli, we plan to spend the time before the ferry’s arrival looking around the village, visiting the power station museum and possibly the cafe. We expect to arrive in Stavanger around 5:30PM.
Consider spending a day climbing the world's longest wooden staircase? This hike will give you good lookout points as we climb higher and higher and a scenic view at the top. On the way back you can relax your legs at the cruise and enjoy the beatiful fjord and Pulpit Rock from below.

However, we do advise that only visitors in good physical condition undertake the full challenge, while others may wish to experience the “light” version.
GEAR AND SNACKS
Hikers should be prepared with clothes and shoes suitable for the weather conditions. Hiking boots are strongly encouraged, or trail running shoes, at the very least. Other suggestions include warm, windproof and waterproof clothing.
Be advised that we will not have the opportunity to refill your water containers for most of the trip, so make sure that you have enough water with you to keep hydrated. Lunch will not be provided, but we suggest that you bring your own lunch.
Last but not least, each hiker is responsible for carrying his/her own gear, so a suitable backpack is recommended.
