Stop At: Waimarama Beach, Waimarama, Hastings New Zealand

Take a walk with your guides on the ancestral sacred lands of Hakikino where their people loved, fought and died over 700 years ago. Visit the native plant nursery where today the family strive to restore, conserve and protect remnant bush areas and return the voice to the forest. Understand the unique challenges of combining all of this in a contemporary and viable land based business. Call in at their Marae reservation and then visit a family ancestral home built over one hundred years ago where you will share a meal together. Our elders have an interesting and varied life and they enjoy meeting people and sharing stories.
