Pandawa Beach also referred to locally as ‘Pantai Kutuh’, is one of the island’s southernmost beaches, featuring a kilometer stretch of white sand that is great for swimming and a variety of water sports. A number of local restaurants also line the coast, offering anything from pasta, burgers, steaks to Indonesian fried rice and seafood barbecues. The beach is fringed by a carved limestone cliff that features carved arches each housing large statues that depict a hero character from the Mahabharata epic. The heroes, known as the ‘five Pandawas’, inspired the new popular name of the beach.
