Stop At: Jodensavanne, Cornelis Jongbawstraat 31, Paramaribo Suriname

On Jodensavanne you can find the ruins of the synagogue Beracha ve Shalom (blessing and peace), one of the most important oldest Jewish synagogue of the western hemisphere. The Beth Halm (Hebrew)( house of life) is a cemetery with approx. 452 graves. The cemeteries of the Jews and slaves are clearly separated. At the non-Jewish cemetery are the wooden graves mainly from the 20th century. We use a light lunch and some cold drinks.

There are also 2 natural springs on Jodensavanne. The medicinal source already delivers for centuries a small but constant supply of healing water.
