Montmartre Food and Wine Tour
3h30
About this activity
Look around you! Dozens of cobblestone streets, lots of somptuous hidden mansions, hundreds of warm and lively Parisian cafés, charming terraces everywhere, some typical little squares and adorable stores of all types… No mistake you are in Montmartre ! If the City of Lights had a heart, no wonder it would be beating here, in Montmartre and nowhere else.
You have probably heard of Montmartre as the residency of some famous painters of the 19th and 20th century, such as Pablo Picasso and Van Gogh, or even as the setting of some myhtical movies such as Amelie! Yet, Montmartre has also a great gastronomical heritage. You can tell by the several mouthwatering window shops along the way, full of elegant and delicious cakes, appetizing chocolate candies, and of course, shelves full of generous cheeses, cured meats and French wine!
Not only Montmartre contains some of the most popular cultural symbols of Paris, such as Le Moulin Rouge and Le Sacré Cœur, but it also has an undescribable soul provided by every single actor of this area. All the talented food artisans play a major part by contributing to the warm and unique atmosphere of the district.
On the way, your guide will take you to the breathtaking Clos des Vignes, which happens to be the only vineyard in Paris. This incredible spot will make you forget about where your are, thanks to its timeless setting that literaly throws you back a century ago, when the wine served in every cafes and bistros was coming from the Montmartre's vineyards!
Your local and foodie guide will be delighted to walk down these streets in order to introduce you to the best food artisans of the area, and also to share with you some unforgettable tastings at every stop. You'll feel like a little child while eating the sweet treats we've selected for you, while a glass of good wine paired with some fresh cheeses and cured meat will make you fill in the shoes of a real Parisian enjoying his apéritif along with friends!
Get ready for Montmartre’s magic and delicacies, they are only waiting for you!

Ask for Arno. His passion for his city, food, coffee, and wine are undeniable. We booked the tour just the day before, and we were so lucky to have the time available. We went with the early one. It is a walking tour with hills and steps, so be prepared to .... walk up hills and steps. I am sure they are each a little different but we had amazing coffee, chocolates, macaroons, wine, cream puffs, and a nice charcuterie tray along the way. We had a busy 10 days in London, Paris, and Munich Oktoberfest and this tour may have been the highlight of the entire trip!
The tour was very good overall. We walked, including some hills, in the Sacre Couer/Montmarte area and had great views. We learned about the area and the artists that have lived there, visited the "I Love You" wall, the chapel at Sacre Couer, and Picasso's studio. We tasted some good sweets and other items, visited an excellent spice shop, and had a cheese plate with wine. Our guide was knowledgable and fun to be with. The only down side was our guide smoked during the tour. Overall I would highly recommend this tour.
We enjoyed the tour very much. Our guide, Arno, was a delightful young man. He brought us to wonderful local shops to sample various foods and wine.
We loved this!!! We were so glad we did a guided tour of Montmartre as this gorgeous neighborhood is more of what you expect Paris to be! We got to try so many samples of GOOD quality French food including - chocolate, Macarons, 3 different pastries, SNAILS, ice cream, a few glasses of wine, cheeses, cured meats, while being guided around this gorgeous neighborhood! Julie was amazing and very qualified. Loved getting the run down on each of the French wine regions!
The tour was really good. Our guide really knew his stuff, which provided a real understanding of what we saw. Highly recommended.
Tour guide was great. She took us to a lot of different places to sample a variety of food. This was a highlight of our trip.
We had such a great time and sampled some great food, pastries and chocolate. Lunch was nice with some wine and we were shown some areas we did not know assisted. Definitely recommend this tour.
I did the tour with my husband and daughters. Our guide was Jeremie. He was made the tour so much fun and we learned more about Paris in that short time. We enjoyed the tour so much that we went back a few days later just to re visit the shops again. It was one of the best things we did while in Paris. We learned more about the real side of Paris and its history.
This was one of three walking food tours we took in Paris. We had a group of ten patrons and it was a great group. Sophie, our guide, was very knowledgeable and took us to many wonderful sights, including the iconic Sacre Coeur Basilica. It was a fantastic tour.
The tour guide was good, the sampling acceptable (possibly not up to standard of tours I did in Prague and Florence but OK). Luncheon was good and wines sample excellent. I discovered things about Montmartre that I was not aware of even though visiting at an earlier date.
Our tour was amazing! We had a incredible time at Montmartre! The food, wine and coffee was great! we had both sweet and savory food! Jérémie Therrey was our guide, he was amazing! He enjoys what he does and his passion was contagious! He went beyond the line of duty, he asked for our emails and by the time we got back to our hotel, we had a email with recommendations for places to go and try new food! I recommend it!
We loved our food tour with Nick! We are a family of four and the tour appealed to all of us. Nick was personable and we enjoyed listening to him teach about the local area and all of the food/beverages! Many stops on this tour, lots of tastings and friendly people along the way.
Our guide Arno clearly loves Paris and food and the Montmartre area. He took us from shop to cafe to explain challenge us to really taste and consider each of the items we sampled - coffee, chocolate, macrons, etc. After climbing the steps to the top of Montmarte (our choice- a funicular ride is available) we relished relaxing with wine and cheese before descending to sample gelato flavors. Great experience all around!
What a great tour. Our guide Arno was very knowledgeable and we learnt a lot about the local history, but more importantly about the food and drink. I would highly recommend this tour.
Knowledgeable guide, good food and recommendations. Saw interesting sites and tried things we haven't eaten before.
Our guide Anne Sophie was a truly wonderful guide. Perfectly paced through the process of so many different food offerings. It was a busy day in Montmartre, but she guided us through with what appeared like true ease. Full of very interesting information, and with a fun and energetic personality, she made this tour very memorable and special. The tastings were varied and very delicious. I would definitely recommend this tour and especially with Anne Sophie!
We truly enjoyed our tour with Rebecca. She was sincere, passionate and invested in giving us a wonderful experience.
Thanks to our tour guide, Sophie, we enjoyed the tastes and sites of Montmartre. Excellent experience!!
This tour of the Montmartre district was enjoyable, different and delightful. Nick, our guide, was knowledgeable and fun. The food and the wine were great. But going into out of the way shops, meeting the owners/chefs was a special treat. We could not have experienced this on our own. Nick had some great connections!
The tour was pretty interesting thanks to the guide Julie. She definitely made an effort to introduce us to some authentic French food. On the other hand I think it was way overpriced. We had a group of six visitors each given a small chocolate, two small pastries, a slice of tart, and two glasses of wide paired with two plates of cheese and meet shared among 6 of us. I believe $194 for two was a real stretch, even for Paris.
We were switched from the "Flavors of Saint-Germain Sweet and Savory" tour to this tour because the guide was not available that day. However, we were very pleased. The tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable and we visited an area that we probably would not have explored other wise. And the food....well that is self explanatory....Delicious!
It was terrific. Great guide, good company and tasty food. Learned some of Montmartre’s history as well. Very knowledgeable guide.
The guide was absolutely amazing! Not only did he give us a tour of ALL the historical, important parts of Paris but he also allowed us to sample generous amounts of authentic food and wines only found in Paris. He also provided a lot of extremely helpful tips and guides on how to get around Paris and the places to go to for an authentic meal. Definitely worth the price and time as we would have been absolutely clueless without his guide and the tour as our starting point!!
Eric is amazing! He is engaging and fun to tour with, and his knowledge of the food, wine, and culture truly is outstanding! He is willing to provide a complete list of the foods, wines, shops, and sights you experienced along the tour, or provide you with a complete list of other places to try.
This is one of the best activities we did during our trip to Paris. It is a great way to get an overview of the Montmartre neighborhood. You learn some history about the place, and, on top of that, you get to try some specialty shops well known by the locals. Our guide from the company Original Food Tours was fantastic.
