The workshop is led by an expert in the perfume field who teaches professionals at the well know school of Perfumery in Versailles and is also a consultant to firms like L'Oreal. The first part of the workshop will be a discussion on the origin of The Eau de Cologne in Florence in 1221 at the convent of Santa Maria Novella, and the key ingredients and evolution around 1725 of the production of perfume in the city of Cologne.

In the first half you will learn how to smell and describe the ingredients of an eau de cologne and to learn about the characteristics belonging to different families of odors. This is then followed by a discussion of the development of different kinds of Cologne and Eaux Fraiches on the market.

The second half of the workshop is the practical part. After having smelled the different types of Eau de Cologne and Eaux Fraiches, your teacher will show you a very simple method to create the perfumes you like which you can take home with you. Six different perfumes are used (classic cologne, green tea, spicy, fruity, floral ozonic and chypre in atomizers). All the raw materials are guaranteed to correspond to the European legislation and to the IFRA recommendations.

Very interesting experience definitely worth trying it out. Cozy atmosphere and a lovely host. We managed to create something we actually like with the help of the teacher. And we took our fragrances home. Fun!

You might think a perfume workshop is just for the ladies. Oh contrare mon fare! Learning the science and formula of how to make perfumes was a lot of fun, and should be at the top of the list with the tower and the arch when you go to Paris.

Loved doing this with my Daughter whilst we were in Paris we learnt a lot more aboutnotes of perfume and what is short and long lasting. Marina was just wonderful, so knowledgable and patient. And her apartment was a warm and calm environment for us to create our own individual perfumes.Great Parisian experience that is just a bit different from the norm.

This was the first time I enrolled and it was such a treat! I really enjoyed learning about the chemistry behind creating fragrances. Marina was instrumental in assuring the right fragrance tones were selected to complete my formulas. She was also very patient while answering many questions, and making sure each student in the class received personal time/attention. I would totally recommend this class to anyone looking to experience something really special while visiting Paris. Her apartment is just lovely and provides the perfect back drop for this Parisian event!
