About this activity
Visit: Hummer Safaris WA, 40a Hope Ave, Perth, Western Australia 6152 Australia
Departing your hotel at approximately 6.45am, (or 8.40am) your driver guide will head for the pinnacles along the new Indian Ocean Road stopping at Gulderton/Moore river estuary fist on the way up to the pinnacles.. (The later option does Caversham Wildlife Park first before heading up the coast)
Arriving at the Pinnacles at approximately 9:30am, you will be one of the first to arrive with approximately 1-hour to walk among and explore the unique Pinnacles with its eerie nature and then visit the museum. There is a 4km loop drive that you will have access to in the Mustang. Onsite is a gallery and gift shop if you wish to gain a better understanding about this incredible site. Many of the Pinnacle structures resemble creatures such as a Dolphins, Elephants and even Batman. You will be sure to spot pinnacles that remarkably resemble something other than the limestone formations. There is more to the pinnacles and how to look at them, that requires experienced guides to point out and also the many places that are off the track that get missed on most tours.
From the Pinnacles, enjoy a short drive 15 km north to Cervantes where you will find yourselves at Lake Thetis, home of the stromatolites formed from microbiobials over thousands of years. Next, take a short 5 minute drive to Thirsty Bay where you will be able to view the coastline at 230 degrees and its pristine sandy beach line meeting the magnificent turquoise (Indian Ocean) coast. You will now be in a territory renowned for its export grade crayfish.
At 12.00 we will have lunch at Cervantes Pinnacles Resort. Meals are big in size and the chef does a great job. (Fresh local Fish and Chips is a favorite as is the Pinnacles edge burger or Seafood Taster)
After lunch, we head 115 km south east toward Swan Valley and Caversham Wildlife Park via Gingin, Bullsbrook and the Royal Australian Air Force base driving through prime cattle, sheep and goat farming regions. Arriving in the Valley at approximately 3pm where we will drop into Chocolate Factory and Providore for some chocolate and food tastings before heading over to the Caversham Wildlife park at 3.30 for the Wombat and Friends interaction show, plus Koalas and the kangaroos by the hundreds.Feeding the Kangaroos is always a treat and especially with so many baby Joeys around, great photo opportunities, its easy to be the last to leave the park becasue of its relaxing nature and exceptional animal care.
If you have larger groups we do have our Hummer Option .
Optional: Time Permitting.
Caversham Wildlife park is nestled nearby the Swan Valley Winery region. If there is time, your driver might stop at Houghtons Estate Winery for 20 minutes before closing at 5pm. You will be able to enjoy some wine tasting and view their impressive and extensive vines.
