Marlborough Sounds Cruise & 3-Hour Scenic Walk

You will leave the Cougar Line office at 9am or 10am depending on the time of year. Then all you have to do is sit back and relax as you cruise the idyllic Queen Charlotte Sound for approx. 1 hour. Take in views of The Sounds that can't be seen by road or on a Cook Strait crossing, until you reach your drop off destination, Resolution Bay.



Attracting walkers of all ages our well-maintained track and Marlborough’s climate allows for good year-round walking conditions. The gentle walk from Resolution Bay toward Furneaux Lodge traverses native forest over a low saddle offering a spectacular vantage point for the photographer. The gradual descent curls along the shoreline to the historic Lodge. This 10.5 km independent walk is designed to suit all fitness levels.

Once you reach Furneaux Lodge, you are welcome to rest, explore the grounds or even enjoy a glass of wine at the picturesque Furneaux Lodge (time permitting). Your return boat will pick you up from the Lodge, allowing you relax after your 10km walk and take in the beauty of the Sounds from a different angle, at a different time of day. You will return to the Cougar Line offices at Picton 90 mins later at approx. 430pm.
