Pass By: America's Hub World Tours, Portland, OR 97239

We pick up at select downtown Portland hotels.

Stop At: Camp 18 Museum, 42362 Highway 26, Seaside, OR 97138-6162

Those who want to learn more about logging history in the northwest, or who simply are curious about vintage logging machinery, will find plenty of material at Camp 18. Outdoor displays include multiple steam donkeys such as a Dolbeer single spool, a very early first-generation model, to a high-tech late-model Willamette compound geared yarder that was the height of technology for its day. Other displays on site include a large bandsaw from a sawmill, a self-propelled Ohio steam crane, Caterpillar-style tracked vehicles that worked in the woods, a railroad skeleton log car and other heavy equipment plus a wide variety of large and small hardware. We will make a quick stop here on our way to the spectacular Oregon Coast so that you can explore the historic equipment, use the restroom, and buy some coffee if you want.

Duration: 15 minutes

Stop At: Neahkahnie Mountain, Oregon

This peak is an inspiring place, where the Tillamook tribe believed their most powerful god resided. In fact, the name Neahkahnie comes from their words Ne ("place of") and Ekahnie ("supreme deity").

Duration: 15 minutes

Stop At: Short Sands Beach, Manzanita, OR 97130

Stretching along four miles of coastline in dense, temperate rainforest, Oswald West State Park has a beautifully secluded sandy beach and miles of trails leading to breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean. This vast, scenic treasure is without a doubt one of the most spectacular parks in Oregon.

Duration: 25 minutes

Stop At: Ecola State Park, Off Hwy. 101, Cannon Beach, OR

No visit to Cannon Beach would be complete without visiting Ecola State Park, perched dramatically on the edge of Tillamook Head. Ecola Park Road winds through old growth rainforest before emerging at one of the Oregon Coast’s most famous views, overlooking numerous rock formations and the capes and headlands miles to the south.

Duration: 25 minutes

Stop At: Manzanita Beach, Reed Road, Manzanita, OR 97130

Manzanita is a beautiful oceanside city with seven miles of sandy beach and the third most photographed scenery in Oregon. While here you can enjoy a spectacular walk by the ocean or explore their lovely downtown.

Duration: 25 minutes

Stop At: Cannon Beach, OR 97110

This picturesque small-town village by the sea is easily walkable and you will be able to explore meandering pathways, enjoy public art and courtyards spilling over with flowers. Known as one of the Northwest’s top art towns, Cannon Beach is filled with art galleries, specialty shops, cafes and fine dining restaurants. While in Cannon Beach you will have time for lunch at one of their amazing restaurants. Cannon Beach is also famous for its amazing beaches.

Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Haystack Rock, Us 101, Cannon Beach, OR 97110

Haystack Rock is one of Oregon’s most recognizable landmarks, home to colorful tidepools and diverse bird life. It rises 235 feet from the edge of the shoreline. At low tide, you can walk right up to it and find colorful sea stars and other fascinating tidepool creatures in its intertidal area. Puffins can be observed on Haystack Rock from early spring to mid-summer, offering the most accessible viewing of Tufted Puffins in the Northwest.

This was my 2nd tour with this group. The quality was as I had experienced before: beautiful, educational and all together an amazing day. I would highly recommend this tour if you want to see the PNW coastline!

We enjoyed the trip very much. Being in Oregon and unable to drive, it was the best way for us to get to the Coast from Portland. The tour guide was very congenial and helpful as well as very informative about things we saw along the way; he also recommended a place for us to eat fried oysters in Cannon Beach, a special wish of my husband. The trip included all of the best sites along the northern coast, and we stopped long enough to explore a bit.

Aaron, our tour guide, was amazing! Very knowledgeable and outgoing. He took us to some really cool spots. So much fun - even going solo. Would definitely recommend!

Can you afford to visit Portland and miss the Pacific Coast? No! Must visit Canon Beach with its fabulous food and shopping, and tucked-away Small Sand and Indian Beaches which remain in landscapes much like Lewis and Clark saw them!

We did this tour in mid-October, and the weather was fantastic. Cannon Beach and Haystack Rock were stunning. We visited another beach and a couple of viewpoints as well. Lunch was about an hour and a half break in the town of Cannon Beach. A great day with a decent amount of time at each stop.

We absolutely LOVED this tour! The sights are AMAZING! Our guide, Scott, was personable and helpful in getting us to the best spots. Highly recommend this trip. We walked the beach, hiked in a state park AND recommend it for everyone! This Coast is nothing like East Coast beaches so we were delightfully surprised! Wear walking shoes or no shoes on the beach! Cannon Beach shops -- stop at Coastal Yarns if you are a knitter! Lunch at the Driftwood - you will not be disappointed!! The state parks were gorgeous - green, moss, 4' ferns, enormous evergreens. A Must Do!

I was very impressed with this tour and the tour guide. The ride to the coast was quite beautiful and the beach areas were breathtaking. This tour is a must to get a true feel of Oregon. If you go to Portland and never leave the city, you are definitely missing out on the beauty and history of Oregon. Our tour guide Phil was the best guide that I ever had. He made the tour even more special for us. Cannon Beach and Haystack Rock are a must see. We had lunch while at Cannon Beach and the fish was very fresh and delicious.

EXCELLENT guide, very informative and helpful. Beautiful area. Rained all day so we had to do some alternative activities since we couldn't stay on the beach as long, but those were interesting as well. Hotel pick up and drop off much appreciated.

Jerri is a wonderful guide and a great driver. We had problems because I was not given a pick up location, but we got it worked out and the tour was spectacular, even in a light rain.

If you like crowded tourist spots then this tour if for you. I did the Mount Hood tour a few days earlier and it was enjoyable. This tour is just the opposite! The tour guide was poor. Very little knowledge and her constant eating while driving was very concerning. Would not recommend.
