Porto from Esposende

Your tour kicks off at 9:00AM, when you’ll be collected from your Esposende hotel.

During the drive you will learn about the rich culture and heritage of the region.

You will drive by the coast to Porto and pass the beaches of Póvoa de Varzim and see the tiny fishermen´s cottages along the way.

You will start your visit to Vila do Conde with a visit to a small catholic chapel that was constructed facing Mecca. You will visit the perfect replica of the Ship that discovered Brazil in the year 1500. After this you will drive through the center city and see the main church ´Igreja de Matriz´.In the end you will see the view on the village and the River ´Ave´ from the Monastery of Santa Clara

Continue the trip along the coast, passing through Matosinhos and the end of the Douro River.

Arriving to the Historical center of Porto, the first stop is in the narrowest house of Porto, called ´The hidden house´, this house was built due to a law that forbade two churches together. From here you will walk along the streets, passing ´Livraria Lello´ you arrive to the highest Point in Porto,´Torre dos Clérigos´. This is a Baroque church with a tall bell tower, that can be seen from various points of the city and is one of its most characteristic symbols.

Following our walk in the streets of Porto, the next stop is the ´São Bento´ train station. A 20th-century building known for the massive symmetrical facade and the tile-adorned vestibule with approximately 20,000 ´azulejos´ tiles. 

Visit the upper deck of ´Dom Luís I´ Bridge, a double-deck metal arch bridge from the 19th-century and one of its most characteristic symbols of the city. From here you will have amazing views to Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia.

The last stop is the famous Cathedral of Porto, ´Sé Cathedral´ this is a Roman Catholic church and it is one of the city's oldest monuments. 

We will pass to the other side of the Douro river to Vila Nova de Gaia. Here you will walk at the river side near the Port wine cellars and you will have some free time to lunch.

During the afternoon, embark on a ´Rabelo´ boat trip on the river Douro, from where you can have another perspective of the city. Your tour ends in the best way, with a Port wine tasting and a spectacular view on the city of Porto. 

After this you will go back to your hotel in Esposende.
