Casa dos Barros is a historic noble family manor house, half of which has been converted into an enchanting small hotel. We’ll have coffee in the garden and possibly a dip in the pool with vineyard views.

Lunch will have us gathered in Teresa’s kitchen, around the eighteenth-century table, to eat typical Portuguese “petiscos” (small plates) and taste Lavradores de Feitoria wines – including an “aroma game” for added fun.

Stop At: Casa Dos Lagares - Sociedade Agrícola E Comercial, Lda., Casa Da Quinta, 5070-342 Sanfins do Douro, Portugal

Casa dos Lagares is the wine property of charming José. We’ll tour the winery and taste more wines (including one of the best Ports you'll ever taste), then visit the nearby village house lovingly restored as a nineteenth-century home.

Stop At: Casal de Loivos Viewpoint, Cabo da Rua, Casal de Loivos 5085-010 Portugal

We will visit Miradouro de Casal de Loivos above the sleepy village of Pinhão for more breathtaking views - the BBC says it’s one of the most beautiful spots in the world. We'll take a "secret" short walk through vineyards with olive and orange trees, and often, fantastic Douro light.
