Vinho Verde region half-day wine and food tour from Porto

You'll start the day with a coffee and specialty local pastry in the riverside town of Amarante. You'll stand on the São Gonçalo bridge, where invading French forces were repelled in 1809, and visit the magnificent São Gonçalo church, famed for its stunning interior.

A short meandering drive will take you to a rising star of the Vinho Verde wine country, where some of Portugal’s best-known "green" wines are produced. You'll sample award-winning Vinho Verde, Dão rose and red wines, paired with tasty petiscos (small plates of Portuguese delicacies).
