About this activity
Allow us to invite you to a sightseeing tour of the city Bernard Bolzano called a city of a hundred towers in the 19th century. Let us begin in the vicinity of the Estates Theatre, in the Old Town, which hosted the premiere of W.A. Mozarts Don Giovanni opera. We will pass by the National Theatre, you'll see the Prague Castle and the Charles Bridge, Rudolfinum, which is the home stage of the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, the Powder Gate, the Wenceslas Square, the center of the New Town, where the Czech history was written, the Charles Square, and the renowned Dancing House (Fred and Ginger). Then we will cross the Jirasek Bridge to the Lesser Quarter, dominated by Saint Nicholas Church. The first part of the tour is provided by minibus; we will start our walk to the Prague Castle, where Czech kings had their offices. Soldiers of the elite Prague Castle Guard welcome you at the gates. You'll see the ceremonial Changing of the Guard, including a fanfare and the flag ceremony (only for a tour at 10:00). We will see Saint Vitus Cathedral, where the Czech Crown Jewels are kept, and where King Charles IV, father of the country, is buried. In the Lobkowicz Palace, you can have a refreshing cup of coffee in the beautiful, historic cafe. Then we will walk down to the Malostranske square where our minibus will be waiting for us. We will cross Jewish Town, pass the oldest synagogue in Europe, and arrive in the Old Town Square. It is one of the oldest marketplaces in Prague and features the historic Town Hall and world-famous Astronomical Clock, dating back to 1410. This is where our tour ends.
