We had a great time in our cooking class! We enjoyed the walk through the market and every aspect of the class. The food we made was fantastic! We are so glad we booked.
This cooking class was a blast!! Our class was taught by a former contestant of Czech Master Chef, and the food was amazing. We learned to make Potato and Mushroom soup, Roast Pork with Sauerkraut and Czech Dumplings, and Shredded Pancake dessert. After the class recipes were supplied to us by email. Highly recommend this off the beaten path Prague Experience.
Wonderful morning shopping through the farmers' market and making several dishes. There was time to talk and get to know our chef and other guests. I was able to take the Metro and had a short walk to cooking studio which is one building away from the farmers' market building. The studio sent detail instructions how to get to the location.
We really enjoyed this experience. While the Czech Republic is not exactly known for its fine quisine, we enjoyed the market experience and the history and explanation of regional Czeck recipes. Everyone was knowledgeable and informative and we would recommend lthis class as a way to learn more about how people around the world actually live.
First of all, don't let the area around the cooking school turn you away. Once inside it is beautiful! Bright and clean with new equipment and everything at the ready. I had a solo class with my instructor Petra. She took me to the market next door which was wonderful. We sipped blackcurrant wine, purchased mushrooms and apples and wandered around looking at all the goodies. Worth a trip back here after class. Then we got busy making potato soup, paprika chicken with dumplings and apple strudel. I especially liked making the steamed dumplings. It was fun to prepare the meal and then to sit down and enjoy it at the end of our labors. I even got an extra strudel to bring to my husband for later. It didn't last ten minutes! I enjoyed the time with Petra talking about everything from cooking, to family, and to music. I highly recommend this class to individuals or small groups who want to do something less touristy and to get to know the local culture a bit better.
