Dating back to 1348, the chateau was renovated in 1910 after several ownership changes and damages from war and fires. It was ransacked yet again in 1945 before being seized by the state. In 2000 the chateau underwent a vast renovation after being conceded to the National Heritage Office.

See the state of the chateau from the beginning of the 20th century during your visit and learn about the lifestyle of local nobility between the world wars. Over 90 per cent of all the silver and lead in the Habsburg state iIn the 19th century was mined here. See the mining machine dating from 1914 and gaze into the historical shaft from 1836. There are also many other unique structures, such as a water wheel with a diameter of over 12 meters.

Your central Bohemia tour ends with a visit to the centuries-old Točník and Žebrák castles before you head back to your drop off point in central Prague.
