About this activity
Meet our driver and english speaking guide at the lobby of your hotel and hit the road to the Jewish Quarter of Prague. The Jewish Quarter, called also Josefov, has six synagogues, the Jewish Ceremonial Hall and the Old Jewish cemetery, the most remarkable of its kind in Europe. You will have a great opportunity to visit five of them and the Old Jewish cemetery as well.
The Old Jewish cemetery is the largest Jewish cemetery in Europe and one of the most Jewish historical monuments in Prague.
The Klausen synagogue is the largest synagogue in the former Prague Jewish ghetto and also a single example of an early baroque synagogue in the area.
The Maisel synagogue was built at the end of the 16th century and its actual style is neo-gothic.
The Pinkas synagogue is the second surviving synagogue in Prague and the Spanish synagogue is the newest one. The Spanish synagogue is built in Moorish Revival style and next to this synagogue you will also see modern statue of famous Prague writer Franz Kafka and church of St. Spirit.
The Old New synagogue is Europe´s oldest active synagogue and its was one of Prague´s first gothic buildings.
