Las Escobas Waterfalls Tour

This tour takes you to the Las Escobas site for a nature walk and a visit to the waterfalls and pools. The site is located within the protected Natural Reserve of the San Gil Hill and run by a non-profit organization called FUNDAECO. Their main goal is the sustainable development of the site and the local communities. The site has several trails that lead to the different pools and waterfalls located within, where you will be allowed to swim for 15 minutes if you wish. This river is called Las Escobas and it provides fresh purified water to the local communities of Santo Tomas de Castilla and Puerto Barrios. Swim in the crystal cold refreshing waters, walk through the protected areas featuring 100 foot tall trees of the Las Escobas Falls, which provide the water for Santo Tomas as well as Puerto Barrios. The water for these falls comes down from the San Gil Mountain.
