Great city tour. Daniel and Roberto were both excellent guides that were helpful and personable. The first stop was the Teleferico, which was supposed to come later on in the tour but came first because of weather and cruise ships docking in the afternoon would become overcrowded. Although it was raining the entire time we visited the cable car, Daniel still showed the group around the cliff top and we were able to see some beautiful gardens. I noticed other tour guides from other companies did not do this, they simply let their groups ride up and right back down. After this, we visited many other places including, in no particular order, the Brugal rum factory a must if you like rum, also the cheapest place to purchase bottles, the chocolate factory delicious, the church beautiful, the cigar factory dont smoke them but had many varieties and were very well priced, and the Amber museum it was ok, very quick and more of a gift shop than anything. We also visited a gift shop in the city. Although some items were very reasonably priced, like the amber and larimar jewelry, other items were a complete ripoff, like the bottles of Mama Juana tiniest bottle they try to sell for 20 when it goes for 5 in the hotel gift shops. If you decide to purchase anything in the city gift shop be prepapared to haggle if something seems overpriced it probably is. Overall, the tour itself was very informative and a great way to see and learn more about the city.
